Hot to Stay Positive - when life gets you down
Yesterday I lived the perfect day!!
A day which only a few months ago I imagined.
I was so inspired, that today I want to repeat the experience and share with you how you too can live the life you desire.
Over the past year, but in particular since I started this blog, people have told me how they admire what I do. They simply don’t know where I find the energy to do it all considering my situation and circumstances.
I have recently met a great friend who is part of my inspiration. It is because of her that I was able to let my thoughts flow and dare to imagine the perfect day and week in my life.
I originally worote this post before Charlies transplant and even though we didn’t get THE call for Charlies transplant when I worte this, he was well, happy and we got to do all the things mummies and babies get to do together at home.
So what is my secret to staying positive?
Have a Vision - I have a vision board. This is view of the future life I desire, it is the unrestricted view of how I want to live. Because it is free to have a vision and there is no limit to my imagination I dare to dream. It is this vision board that has directed the universe to fulfil my perfect day wish
Write a Gratitude Journal - My sister bought me this cute little pink gratitude journal as a present, she was hoping for me to focus on the positive parts of my life when I was going through the darkest moments of my life. Thank you Sanja!! Even though it has taken me some time to get started, today’s entry read: “I am grateful for having such a beautiful and thoughtful little sister who I love unconditionally and who loves me back the same.”
Positive Affirmations - The first affirmation I ever wrote down was passed on to me from Hayley my amazing friend. That affirmation was “Charlie will get the perfect liver, at the perfect time in the perfect way”. She told me that the universe always gives us what we ask for. Thankfully not many people reading this will ever experience what it feels like to wait without any sign of when the desired date to change your life will come. I thought waiting for the days to count down to a European holiday were agony, well let me tell you I yearn for that count down now! Hayley had asked me to think of 5 affirmations to do every day, to put the positive thoughts into the universe because we are what we think. That advise came at the perfect time for me because I had started to doubt we would ever get the call. Whilst we are still playing that waiting game and I now do my affirmations daily I have placed the trust in the universe that we will get the call at the perfect time with the perfect liver for Charlie.
Keep a Diary - When Charlie was born I bought a cute little book called “365” I had decided to document every day of Charlies first year. And then he was diagnosed!! My last entry was on the 3 Feb 2014 - Superbowl Monday!! Charlie was diagnosed that Friday. I couldn’t bring my self to write after that. It felt hard to get through the day as it was let alone put my thoughts, feelings and fears onto paper. But I have started writing again! I feel that one day I’ll be able to look through my notes and feelings and feel inspired to see how far we have come.
Daily GPS Setting - I don’t know if this is even a technical name but Hayley called it “setting your GPS” and will I. Every day I pick a day in the future a day that I look forward to and write a diary entry as if that day is happening. It is a way of visualising a situation which in turn goes back to the power of attraction.
Write a letter to your future self - I have been doing this for a few years now. I sit down around the same time each year and write one letter from me to my future self and one letter from my future self to me. I put the letters away in a safe place and read them in 12 months time. I always find it interesting at how much my life changes and how close or similar i am to the vision of my future self and my life at that point in time.
If you are interested in finding out more on each of the above points then stay tuned over the next few months. I will publish a blog to go into detail on each of the above points and how you too can reach a lifestyle you desire.
This is the first of many blogs in my “Live your perfect life” series.
I hope you enjoyed this post and would love to hear from you.
