September Wrap Up
If you follow me on Instagram you'll know two things about September:
I went on an adult only holiday, the first Andy and I have had since Charlie was born. And
I read MANY books
The purpose of the holiday was to lie around an exotic place, relax and not run after any one because they're about to electrocute them self while stick a straw into the electricity point or dunk a toy train into the hot soup in front of them.
There was no trains in soups, but there was almost an accidental electrocution. That story is for another blog, which you can read about in on my holiday review blog - Upgraded in Koh Samui.
Honestly, I never thought I'd be the person who craves a quiet, relaxing no stress holiday on a deserted island, yet here I am. I could go another week of doing nothing in the sun... with my husband.... and another hand full of books.
So in this September Wrap Up blog let me share with you the jewels that were my September reads.
1 - The Assassins Blade by Sarah J Mass
This is the prequel to the Throne of Glass series. Upon reflection, I wish I had started this series with this book. But I started with book one (Throne of Glass). The Assassins Blade is a collection of 5 Novellas that outline Celaena’s life before she is caught and sent to the Salt Mines.
Even though I red this after reading all 4 actual novels, it still helped with the over all story more, as you get to know other characters that influenced Celaena in her life but don't necessarily appear in the novels them self, or not yet.
The full review on this book is coming up
This book takes place in Dystopian LA 20 years from now. This is the first Kim Falconer book I have read, and wasn't sure what to expect but was hoping not to be reading about vampires. And I was pleasantly surprised!
If you are an action junky then this is the book for you.

3. Empire of Storms by Sarah J Mass
This was the most anticipated book of September for me. I pre-ordered from Bookdeporsity, hoping I'd get it the day of release, but it was a week late. I thankfully managed to stay away from being spoiled as every one got their book copy before me.
This is the 5th book in the Throne of glass series, and I had mixed emotions starting this book. Sarah J Mass ripped my heart out after ACOMAF (Review coming soon) and I knew that the action is building up in this series to the point of no return. I was excited to get started and nervous as I approached the end of the book.
Despite my reservations both before starting and after finishing I'm HANGING for book 6 next year September...... can you believe it I have to wait a full year!
4 - November 9 by Colleen Hoover
With every Colleen Hoover book my obsession only grows and grows and grows. She is brilliant!
I have subsequently ordered every book ever written by Colleen. I'm hoping that will tie me over until she releases their next book.
This is a story about Fallon and Ben. Ben is an aspirating writer who meets Fallon, and uses her life as the muse to write his book. That's all I'll say the idea of this book and the subsequent twist in this book is phenomenal. I read the book in two days and plan on reading it again!!

5 - This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas
So the only Erotic novel I ever read was fifty shades of Grey, and I wanted to give the genre another go. What better time to leap head first into this type of book then when you are away on a romantic holiday with your hot husband ;)
In this book Ava meets Jesse. The story is VERT similar to fifty shades of Gray, except the writing is better.
This is part two of the This Man trilogy. By the time I start this book I really don't care about the similarities between this book and 50 Shades. The story is so tumultuous and exciting I HAVE to know where it goes.
Even if that means listening to this audio book the whole day till finish. That includes two plain rides and a very very long taxi drive home from Thailand.
This is the third and final book in the life of Ava and Jesse, by now I'm craving to read about the happy ending... but not before I learn what really torments the hot Jesse. I don't mind the hot and steamy sex scenes either.
My husband thinks I'm crazy and actually tells me to pick a different genre so he can have a break ;)
I'm not ashamed so say I really loved this story even if I wanted to slap both characters around and tell them to pull their heads out of their .....
Anyway full review on all three books from the This Man series will be up on the blog shortly.
